lol. this is a bit overboard but the general idea is good. Where has common sense gone??Why do we need to be treated like children? like OBVIOUSLY an iron will be hot and therefore there is a risk of being burnt. DUH!!!!

OMG MY DAD IS STINGY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously, gr. I was getting my laptop for my 18th birthday late because i had to save up so i could pay for anything extra over the amount my dad said he'd pay for it. So then he gets all funny about money, almost insisting i pay him in cash as if i'm going to, obviously, rip him off</sarcasm>. So then while i'm on the secure bank website with all my account details and money info on the screen he's standing behind me making sure i pay him. So i transfer it straightaway. Then, today, i realised that i was only supposed to pay 50-270 dollars (depending on how much he was willing to give me) but he made me pay him 580 dollars. and i only had 591 dollars in any and all my accounts at the time, so he left me with 11 dollars to my name, 10 of which i spent on petrol because his house is an hour and a half from mine when i drive. so now i only have a dollar in the entire world, i won't get paid from work for another week because they only pay me fortnightly, i have to pay rent, i have almost no petrol in my car which i use to drive to work, and i won't be able to do anything for a while because i have no money.

and the laptop was supposed to be a PRESENT you know, something given with GOOD WILL and something to be nice about, not making sure your struggling part-timer 18 yr old daughter pays you what you really should have been nice about and paid yourself in the first place. STINGY! and mean. stupid old man. making me feel like crap because i want to have my present, which he wouldn't have organised if i didn't chase it up.

lol. on a side note, the French are awesome. Here's a French proverb for you:

French - Impossible n'est pas français.
English - There is no such word as "can't."
Literally - Impossible isn't French.

Harry couldn’t sleep. He’d been having dreams about the final battle. Voldemort had been so confident and Harry had been so scared. He couldn’t help reliving the sheer terror of having such a thing to kill. Kill or be killed. Wasn’t that just the story of his life? Perhaps if there hadn’t been a prophecy, things wouldn’t have happened the way they did. Harry couldn’t help being resentful of normal people like Seamus and Dean who’d had nothing more to worry about than Quidditch, whose turn it was to get the firewhisky for the after-party, and if there was enough time to frantically scribble an answer for a Transfiguration essay. Voldemort had been such a driving force in his life that there had been little time the think about the future.

Harry was stuck. He didn’t know what he wanted to do anymore. Being an Auror didn’t sound quite so appealing now. With the main event finished, Harry had no idea as to where his life was headed. He didn’t know what to do with himself. The future looked so bleak. The only things keeping him sane were his friends. Now that they were moving on with their lives, he realised that he couldn’t always live in the same House as them, eat at the Gryffindor table every morning with them, or huddle in front of the fire on a cold winter’s night.

Harry stared out onto the grounds bathed in the half-moon’s pale silvery light. In a couple of hours, the Hogwarts Express was going to take everyone home for the last time. Right now, Harry was ready to pack it in. With any luck, the morning would bring some peace and happiness to his chaotic life.

Harry woke with the sunlight spilling onto his four-poster and brightening his eyelids. He kept his eyes closed as he listened to the noises of people frantically packing the last of their stuff. A presence shifted and Harry felt the bed dip on his left.

“Harry, mate. You up?” came Ron’s voice, tentative and softly spoken.

Harry groaned and slowly opened his eyes to Ron’s grinning face.

“Yeah, Ron. I’m awake.” He twisted his arms above his head, stretching out and relaxing his muscles. He swung his arms back down and in the momentum, hauled himself out of bed.

The dorm looked empty without the boys’ stuff strewn every which way. The view out the window showed a vibrant morning with almost no clouds at all. The weather seemed to be celebrating the end of an era. Harry looked around himself, trying to imprint the Gryffindor dormitory in his memory for the last time. Dean had already finished packing and was smiling at the veritable whirlwind that was Seamus. Eventually everyone, having shoved as much as they could into their bulging trunks, glanced around to see if they’d missed anything, catching each other’s eyes and quickly looking away. Ron broke the heavy silence with a cough.

“C’mon Harry. Hermione’ll have a fit if we’re not down there soon,” said Ron, though he made no move to follow his own advice.

Neville popped his head around from looking under his bed to ask, “Has anyone seen my Herbology textbook? I can’t find it anywhere.”

There was a simultaneous rolling of eyes as the boys bent down to help Neville look for his book.

The sounds of someone coming up the stairs froze everyone just before Hermione burst through the door, looking flustered and unsympathetic.

“What are you boys doing? The train leaves in twenty minutes! We have to leave right now!” She announced and immediately started fixing her hair into some semblance of order.

“NOW!” She shrieked, and turned to proceed down the stairs, barely managing to keep from falling down.

The boys were still frozen, faces showing the after effects of a Hermione rampage. Harry grinned to himself and started down the stairs after her.

The common room was a scene of pandemonium. People were bustling by, collecting their things and rushing back up to their dormitory. Some were trying to push their way through the tide of people to the exit. Harry stood at the bottom of the stairs watching the rush with amusement until Ron bumped into him, pushing him aside with a harried, “Sorry, mate.”

Harry tuned out the numerous sounds and looked at the room. The fire was smoking from last night’s blaze. The sun was streaming across comfortable chairs, making the red and gold colours blaze with a life of their own. McGonagall opened the portrait, took in the scene, and immediately silenced everyone.

“Students will make their way calmly,” she put extra emphasis on this, “and, composedly to the entrance hall where you will take the carriages to the station. I would like to take the opportunity to thanks the seventh years for their time here at Hogwarts and wish them the best of luck in their ventures.” She smiled warmly at the Gryffindors as a round of cheers and clapping started for the school leavers. Harry watched all this with a slight smile on his face. Ginny turned to look at him from the centre of the whistling and cheering, flipping her hair around her shoulders and giving Harry and bright, happy smile. Harry thought that he did indeed have something to live for. He smiled wider at her and joined her on the way to the front doors, the laughter and chatter washing over him as he walked slowly out.

I would just like to announce that I HAVE FINISHED MY HSC!!!!!!!!!. I can't believe it's finally over. It's really exciting and liberating but at the same time sad. No more school is a good and bad thing for me. It's the social i'm going to miss. No way will i miss studying King Lear. Guh!
Thank God it's over though. No more last minute cramming where there's always something more i could have memorised. No more stupid quotes!! OMG this feeling of having nothing to do is really really good. Ah! XD XD XD

omg i am not looking forward to school coming back being in year 12 and all. it's gonna be hard!!!

everyone from last yr's yr 12 told me to use the holidays to get all my notes done for my exams but me being me i just lazed about on the internet all day and have become so far behind what i should have dne. lol. but yeah. that's life.

YAY! i am finally organising to go to france next year!! i am going to go in August and stay for 5-6 months and that means i will be there for a winter chistmas!!!!! yay!! i am so sick of the hot christmases we have here. i can't handle the heat as well as i can te cold (which is a bit ironic seing as i live in aus lol). but yeah.

so much fun.

at least my school has more holidays at the ned of the terms than other people muahahahahaha! yay for private schools!!!

well, i am not in the most dandy of moods but i am having my trial shift to work at video ezy this sunday and i hope i get the job. i really want the money! then i can buy a multimedia player (not the ones that only play mp3 tho).
but yeah....i am sinking under all my homework!! i shouldn't have taken 13 units!!! argh! and it's weird being the yr 12s. it's weird being the old people who 'know everything' lol.
but yeah. it's good in a way. i think that yr 11 and 12 are the least boring out of all the yrs. at least you actually don't have to do geography if you don't want to!!! yay for choosing your own subjects! *does a jig*

i have totally forgotten about LJ!!! i haven't written in it for a thousand years!!! lol.
but yeah. i can't wait til the holidays!!!! ah, but then i don't want to be closer to being in year 12...
scary. we had this presentation thingy where we got officially promoted to prefects and we got our yr 12 ties. lol, everyone in my year is such a pov pig. when the food came out everyone rushed to it and quickly consumed all of it. then when the cake came out it was difficult to breathe near it. lol.

but yeah. i am really annoyed right now because i'm getting out of practice with flute coz my teacher is in hospital and i haven't had a lesson in a couple of weeks. NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
